Advances in Nonlinear Biological Systems: Modeling and Optimal Control
By Jakob Kotas
This special issue presents a collection of recent advances in nonlinear biological systems. The papers by B. Bonnard and J. Rouot; and M. Chyba et al. were presented in the Special Session on Mathematical Methods and Models in Medicine at the American Mathematical Society (AMS)'s Spring Central and Western Joint Sectional Meeting at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, on March 22-24, 2019. That meeting served as the catalyst for an issue that brings together recent works with a particular focus on biological problems relating to mathematical modeling and optimal control. The six papers included herein are tied together by these common themes.
